Experience the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. Visit the Abbey of San Benedetto, the birthplace of the Benedictine Monks of Norcia and their famous home-brew, Birra Nursia. Tour the major basilicas in Rome, have the opportunity for a papal audience (if available), and tour some of the most ancient sites in Rome. Fr. Nelson will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily at many of these holy sites.

DAY 1 – MON, Jan 4 — Depart USA
Depart USA for your overnight flight to Rome.
Day 2 – TUE, Jan 5 — FIUMICINO AIRPORT / ASSISI
Upon arriving in Rome you meet your tour escort and depart for Assisi. Celebrate the Thanksgiving Mass for save travels at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels. The remainder of the day is free to recover from travel and explore Assisi on your own. (D).
Day 3 – WED, Jan 6 – ASSISI
After breakfast we’ll take the minivans to visit San Damiano and Eremo delle Carceri. After the visit, have a lunch at a farmhouse to enjoy a meal accompanied by a wine tasting. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the center of Assis: visit the St. Francis Basilica, St. Claire and the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Mass today will be celebrated in one of the local churches. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 4 – THU, Jan 7 — ASSISI / NORCIA
Today, we will have an excursion to Norcia, the birthplace of St. Benedict and St. Scholastica and visit the monks of Norcia and taste the fruit of their labor, Birra Nursia. Lunch, on your own, at a local Agriturismo. Return to Assisi for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5 – FRI, Jan 8 — ASSISI / LANCIANO / SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
This morning, depart from Assisi for Lanciano where you will visit the Eucharistic Miracle.Pending confirmation we will celebrate Mass here. Continue to San Giovanni Rotondo for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 6 – SAT, Jan 9 — SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTE SANT’ANGELO
Today you will tour San Giovanni Rotondo and life of Padre Pio. In the afternoon, transfer to Monte Sant’Angelo to visit St. Michael cave and celebrate Mass. Return to San Giovanni Rotondo for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 7 – SUN, Jan 10 — SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTE CASSINO / ROME
Depart this morning for Rome. On the way we will stop in Monte Cassino for Mass. Continue onto Rome to check in to your hotel. (B, D)
Day 8 – MON, Jan 11 – ROME
Today we will visit Santa Croce in Gerusalemme and the relic chapel, St. Johns Lateran and the Holy Stairs, Church of Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori and Saint Mary Major. After lunch, visit St. Paul Outside the wall one of the catacombs. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight. (B, D)
Day 9 – TUE, Jan 12 — ROME / SUBIACO
This morning, leave Rome to visit Subiaco, the cave where St. Benedict lived. After- wards we will return to Rome. (B, D)
Day 10 – WED, Jan 13 – ROME
Begin the day with the Papal Audience. This afternoon have a walking tour of Piazza Navona, The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Or, if you prefer enjoy the afternoon relaxing and/or shopping etc. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight. (B, D)
Day 11 – THU, Jan 14 — ROME
This morning, pending confirmation, you will begin with a Scavi Tour. If Scavi Tour is not available you may want to visit the Vatican Museum or Colosseum, etc. The remainder of the afternoon is free for last minute shopping or sightseeing. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner. Overnight. (B, D)
Day 12 – FRI, Jan 15 — ROME / USA
This morning transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
