Join Msgr. Marvin Borger of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish in Toledo for a pilgrimage in the footsteps of St. Joan of Arc! Travel to Orleans, Domremy, Rouen, tracing the life of St. Joan. Visit Lisieux, home of St. Therese, Mont San Michel, UNESCO site Chartres Cathedral, the WWII American Cemetery and Normandy Beach, and so much more! Spend three days touring the Catholic sites of Paris, including the Miraculous Medal Shrine, Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Notre Dame Cathedral, among others. Msgr. Borger will offer the sacrifice of the Holy Mass daily in many of these holy sites.

Day 1: Monday, Oct 4 – Depart USA
Depart for your overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2: Tuesday, Oct 5 – Paris
Arrive in Paris and meet your guide. We will board our bus and head to Reims with a stop for lunch. We will visit Reims Cathedral this afternoon. The cathedral was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and was the traditional location for the coronation of the kings of France. St. Joan of Arc witnessed the coronation of Charles VII here. The cathedral is considered to be one of the most important works of Gothic architecture. It receives about a million visitors annually and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Day 3: Wednesday, Oct 6 – Domremy
After breakfast we will make our way to Domremy, St. Joan of Arc was born here in 1412. We will visit the Basilica and Museum dedicated to her. Return to Reims for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 4: Thursday, Oct 7 – Rouen
This morning we depart Reims and head to Rouen. In 1431 St Joan of Arc’s heresy trial took place in Rouen, where she was interrogated, tried, and ultimately burned at the stake on May 30, 1431. Because of this, Rouen became strongly associated with her story, and her memory still marks key historic places in the city. After our visit we continue on to Caen for overnight. (B, D)
Day 5: Friday, Oct 8 – Lisieux
Today we will drive to Lisieux where we will visit the Basilica of St. Therese (the Little Flower), her home and Carmel (convent). Return to Caen. (B, D)
Day 6: Saturday, Oct 9 – Mont Saint Michel
Today we will make our way to Mont Saint Michel. We will visit the abbey and the village. Take time for lunch and enjoy the stunning views. Return to Caen to visit the WWII Memorial Museum before returning to the hotel. (B, D)
Day 7: Sunday, Oct 10 – Normandy
Today we will visit one of the Normandy Beaches and the American Cemetery. Afterwards we will drive to Orleans where St. Joan of Arc inspired the French troops to break the English siege of 1428-1429. Overnight Orleans. (B, D)
Day 8: Monday, Oct 11 – Orleans — San Benoit sur la Loire – Chartres – Paris
Today we will make our way to Paris. Before we arrive we will visit the Abbaye de Saint-Benoît (St. Benedict Abbey). Founded around 630 (known then as Fleury Abbey), it is one of the oldest abbeys of the Benedictine Order. This afternoon we will drive to Chartres to visit Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres. Sometimes referred to as the “Queen of Gothic Cathedrals,” it houses 176 stained-glass windows, many of which are original and in excellent condition. Since the Middle Ages, Chartres has been a significant destination for Catholic pilgrimages, particularly due to its association with the Virgin Mary. The cathedral was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Continue on to Paris. (B, D)
Day 9: Tuesday, Oct 12 – Paris
This morning we will begin with a visit to the Miraculous Medal Chapel followed by St. Vincent de Paul Church. In the afternoon we will visit Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre. (B, D)
Day 10: Wednesday, Oct 13 – Paris
Today we will visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Sainte Chapelle. In the afternoon we will visit the Arc de Triomphe and take a stroll down the Champs-Élysées. Time permitting we will visit the Eiffel Tower either today or Thursday. (B, D)
Day 11: Thursday, Oct 14 – Paris
Today you will have free time to visit one of the many local museums, shop and explore on your own. (B, D)
Day 12: Friday, Oct 15 – Paris / USA
Transfer to the airport for our return flight home. (B)
