Join Father Eric Mueller — Pastor, Saint Francis Xavier Parish, Willard and Saint Bernard Parish, New Washington, Ohio — on a pilgrimage to Italy! Walk in the footsteps of Sts. Francis and Claire in Assisi, Sts. Benedict and Scholastica in Norcia and Subiaco, and too many more to list! Stand in awe before the Eucharistic miracle of Orvieto and visit the Benedictine Monks of Norcia. Tour the major basilicas in Rome, have the opportunity for a papal audience, and tour some of the most ancient sites in Rome. Fr. Mueller will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily at many of these holy sites.

Day 1 – Monday, Nov. 8: Depart USA
Depart for your overnight flight to Rome
Day 2 – Tuesday, Nov. 9: Rome / Assisi
Upon arrival in Rome we will meet our tour guide, board our motor coach and make our way to Assisi. Depending on flight schedules and arrival time we may visit Santa Maria degli Angeli today before making our way up to Assisi. (D)
Day 3 – Wednesday, Nov. 10: Assisi
This morning, we begin the day with Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis (pending confirmation). After Mass we will participate in a guided tour of Assisi including such sites as the beautiful Basilica of St. Francis, the Church of Santa Clara which houses her Incorrupt body and Santa Maria Maggiore where St. Carlo Acutis is laid to rest. Pending the previous days schedule we visit the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels which houses the Porziuncola. (B, D)
Day 4 – Thursday, Nov. 11: Norcia
Today we rise early and make our way to visit the Monastero di San Benedetto in Monte, Norcia. We will participate in Mass with the Monks on the Mountain, pending confirmation. After Mass we may meet with the Monks and enjoy a talk and lunch, pending confirmation. Return to Assisi. (B, D)
Day 5 – Friday, Nov. 12: Assisi / Orvieto / Rome
After breakfast we say goodbye to Assisi and make our way to Rome. On the way we will stop in Orvieto, the town that sits on a 1,000-foot high rock formation, poetically crowned by Italy’s most renowned Gothic cathedral. Because of its strategic location, Orvieto for centuries served as a refuge for the popes in troubled times. We visit the famous Cathedral housing the corporal of the Miracle of the Eucharist in Bolsena and visit the Signorelli Chapel. After time for lunch, on your own, we continue on to Rome. (B, D)
Day 6 – Saturday, Nov. 13: Rome
We spend our day visiting a few of the most beautiful churches in Rome. St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, (the Cathedral of Rome), The Scala Santa, (Holy Stairs), and St. Paul Outside the Walls built over the Saint’s burial place; where we will celebrate Mass. (Pending confirmation). Continue on to one of the Catacombs. (B, D)
Day 7 – Sunday, Nov. 14: Rome
This morning we will have our tour of ancient Rome. The highlights include the Capitoline Hill, the Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, the Colosseum and San Clemente Church. (B, D)
Day 8 – Monday, Nov. 15: Rome / Subiaco
This morning, we make our way by motor coach to the Subiaco, the cave where St. Benedict lived. Afterwards we will return to Rome. The remainder of your day is free to explore Rome on your own. (B, D)
Day 9 – Tuesday, Nov. 16: Rome
Today we celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, pending confirmation. After Mass we will make our way to the Vatican Museums for a guided tour. Remainder of the day is free. (B, D)
Day 10 – Wednesday, Nov. 17: Rome
This morning we will head to St. Peter’s for the Papal audience, (if available). Your afternoon is free for last exploring or shopping. (B, D)
Day 11 – Thursday, Nov. 18: Rome / USA
This morning depart for the Fumicino Rome airport for our return flight home. (B)

At this time tickets to Museums are not available. We will request them as soon as they are released; we are unable to guarantee a day / time, or availability. Mass will be celebrated daily, times and locations pending final confirmation. All Mass times and locations listed are subject to final confirmation. You must be physically fit and capable of walking on uneven terrain and being on your feet all day. Foreign countries do not have the “Americans with Disabilities Act” or (ADA).
