Join Father David Cirata on a pilgrimage to Italy! Walk in the footsteps of Sts. Francis and Claire in Assisi, Sts. Benedict and Scholastica in Norcia, Sts. Peter and Paul in Rome, St. Anthony in Padua, and too many more to list! Experience the breathtaking culture and architecture of Venice. Tour the major basilicas in Rome, have the opportunity for a papal audience (if available), and visit some of the most ancient sites in the Eternal City. Fr. Cirata will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily at many of these holy sites.

Day 1: Nov 2 – Depart USA
We depart USA on overnight flight to Venice, Italy, enjoying dinner and breakfast served aboard flight.
Day 2: Nov 3 – Venice
Arrive Venice Airport where we are met by our tour escort and awaiting motor coach for transfer to our hotel in or near Venice. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel (D)
Day 3: Nov 4 – Venice
After breakfast, board your private motor launch to the main island of Venice for a walking tour beginning at Piazza San Marco, the most famous landmark of the island. Sites visited will include the Doges Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, San Marco Basilica, and the Rialto. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the many shops or streets on your own. You may wish to experience a gondola ride along the famous canals of Venice this afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Venice area. (B, D)
Day 4: Nov 5 – Venice / Padua / Assisi
Drive to Padua to visit the Basilica of St. Anthony and the Scrovegni Chapel, (if reservations can be confirmed). Pray at the Tomb of St. Anthony followed by Mass in a side chapel of this Basilica. Continue on to Assisi for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5: Nov 6 – Assisi
After breakfast your walking tour includes the Basilica of St. Francis, the Church of St. Clare, Santa Maria Maggiore, where St. Carlo Acutis is laid to rest , and Santa Maria degli Angeli, built over the Porziuncola, believed
to be the site of the founding of the Franciscan Order. (B, D).
Day 6: Nov 7 – Assisi & Norcia
Today’s excursion takes us to Norcia, the birthplace of St. Benedict and his sister St. Scholastica. We will visit the new Abbey, San Benedetto in Monte, pending confirmation. Afterward, we may have a talk with the founder of the order, Fr. Cassian Folsom, (pending confirmation) followed by lunch in a local restaurant. Before returning to Assisi we will stop in the town of Norcia to see the newly restored Basilica, which all but collapsed in the 2016 Earthquakes. (B, D)
Day 7: Nov 8 – Assisi / Orvieto / Rome:
Today we head to Rome. En-route, we will stop in Orvieto to visit the site where the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena is kept. We will continue on to Rome for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 8: Nov 9 – Rome
This morning we begin with a visit to St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome, on the Feast day (pending confirmation). This afternoon we will visit the 1600-year-old St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls, built over the Saint’s burial place. Time permitting we may visit one of the Catacombs. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 9: Nov 10 – Rome
This morning, pending confirmation, we will celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. After some quiet time to enjoy the Basilica we will visit the Vatican Museum, pending confirmation. The remainder of the day is free for your own prayer, exploring or shopping. (B, D)
Day 10: Nov 11 – Rome
After breakfast we transfer to St Peter’s Square for the Papal Audience. (Depending on the Holy Father’s Schedule). The afternoon is free for personal sight-seeing or shopping. (B, D)
Day 11: Nov 12 – Rome
This morning tour the remnants of “Ancient Rome” including the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum. Your afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish. Perhaps a visit to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and/or Piazza Navona. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B, D)
Day 12: Nov 13 – Rome
After breakfast we depart for the Rome Airport for our return flight home. (B)
