Join Father Tom Nelson pastor of the Catholic Churches of Noble County, Ohio, on a pilgrimage to Italy! Walk in the footsteps of Sts. Francis and Claire in Assisi, St. (Padre) Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, Sts. Benedict and Scholastica in Norcia and Montecassino, and too many more to list! Stand in awe before the Eucharistic miracle of Lanciano and visit a cave in which St. Michael the Archangel appeared. Visit the Benedictine Monks of Norcia. Tour the major basilicas in Rome, have the opportunity for a papal audience, and tour some of the most ancient sites in Rome. Fr. Nelson will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily at many of these holy sites.

DAY 1 – JAN 1: DEPART COLUMBUS FOR ROME
Depart Columbus, Ohio, for overnight flight to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) airport.
DAY 2 – JAN 2: FIUMICINO / ASSISI
Arrive in Rome. Transfer to Assisi. Mass of Thanksgiving for safe travels at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels. The remainder of the day is free to recover from travel and explore Assisi on your own.
DAY 3 – JAN 3: ASSISI
Today we will tour Assisi, the Medieval city of St. Francis. We will begin the day with Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis. Following mass we will enjoy our guided tours of the Basilica of St. Francis, Basilica of St. Claire, Basilica of St. Damiano and Eremo delle carceri. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
DAY 4 – JAN 4: NORCIA
Today we will have an excursion to Norcia, the birthplace of St. Benedict and St. Scholastica, and visit with the monks of Norcia and taste the fruit of their labor, Birra Nursia. In the afternoon we will visit Cascia and see the tomb of St. Rita. Return to Assisi for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 – JAN 5: ASSISI / LORETO / LANCIANO / SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
This morning we depart Assisi. We will stop for Mass at Loreto and see the Holy House. Continue on to Lanciano where we will stop and see the Eucharistic Miracle. Continue on to San Giovanni Rotondo for overnight.
DAY 6 – JAN 6: SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTE SAN ANGELO
Tour of San Giovanni Rotundo and the life of Padre Pio. In the afternoon we will travel to Monte Sant’Angelo where St. Michael appeared. Return to San Giovanni Rotundo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 – JAN 7: SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTECASSINO / ROME
Depart this morning for Rome. On the way we will stop at Monte Cassino for Mass. Continue on to Rome for dinner and overnight. After dinner a walk over to the Vatican for those interested.
DAY 8 – JAN 8: ROME
Begin the day by going to the Catacombs of St. Domitila where we will have Mass. After we will journey to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls where we will also have time for lunch. After Lunch, we will have a tour of St. John Lateran, Holy Stairs, Santa Croce in Gerusaleme and the relic chapel, St. Mary Major, St. Alphonso and the original icon of Our Lady of Per- petual Help. Time permitting we will stop in Santa Prassede to see the Pillar of the Flagellation.
DAY 9 – JAN 9: ROME
This morning we will have a tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. The remainder of the day free to enjoy Rome.
DAY 10 – JAN 10: ROME
Begin the day with the Papal Audience. After time for lunch, an afternoon tour of central Rome including: Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Sopra Minerva and the Tomb of St. Catherine of Siena, St. Agostino and the tomb of St. Monica,
St. Ignazio, the Trevi Fountain, and the Gesu.
DAY 11 – JAN 11: ROME
This morning, pending confirmation, we will begin with a Scavi Tour. Free time until late afternoon for final sightseeing and shopping. We will meet back up before dinner and go to the Piazza del Populo and walk down the Via del Corso and see the Spanish Steps on our way to our farewell dinner at Abruzzi.
DAY 12 – JAN 12: ROME/USA
Return home to the USA.
